I can hardly keep up with "life"....blogging comes like 5th place to everything else.
What's new? My oldest son (20) arrived at Camp Pendleton in CA on Jan. 30, my middle son (19) has been at his job long enough now to get on their insurance (woo hoo!) and my youngest son (13) seems to have grown taller than me in the last 24 hours...my baby! I'm still looking for a full time job so I don't have to work weekends. I'm still crafting but I'm terrible at taking pictures of my cards and loading them up on the computer.
Things must slow down soon :)
THE COZY CABIN
Hi my name is Jan. Welcome to my home. I'm pretty much of an amateur at this blogging thing, but I'm learning. I stay pretty busy working a full-time job, but in my spare time I enjoy papercrafting, reading, cooking and spending time with my family. So, you'll see a little variety on here from time to time. Thanks for stopping by.

I've been tagged!

This is my first blog "tag" and my friend Barb from The Stamp Shack tagged me. I'm to go into my pictures folder and find the 6th folder...then the 6th picture...and paste into my blog. Here it is! This picture is of me and a very handsome young man named Chris. Chris is the son of my good friend Elisabeth, and our family was at their house last summer for dinner and to visit with Chris who is in the USMC.
Thanks Barb...that was fun.
Serendipity: New Magalogue from The Angel Company

In yesterday's mail I received my new "Magalogue" and I LOVE IT! Just what is a Magalogue" you ask? It is a cross between a magazine and catalogue, and will be published twice a year in the spring and fall. In addition, the company will go back to printing just one core catalogue instead of two. The new magalogue takes place of the spring and fall supplements from the past, and has many new stamp sets and project ideas. Most of all I think I love the design, and I think that The Angel Company will have much success with this new idea.
The magalogue will go online February 1, 2009. www.theangelcompany.net
If you would like a copy, I'll mail you one for $3.50 (that includes postage.) I take Paypal or you can send me a check. Let me know.

I think it's fixed now
For some reason, while using the computer at work and making adjustments to my photobucket photo album, the picture looked huge and only 1/2 of it showed. But when I logged in on my home computer, the album on my blog looks normal.
Strange.
Anyways, those are some of the pictures from our vacation, Jacob's going away to bootcamp picnic, and the day he left for bootcamp.

Hello...I'm having issues with Photobucket
As you can see from the humongous picture below...I even resized all the pictures and still I'm having trouble.
Anyhow, if you want to see the picture slideshow, click on the picture below and it will take you to Photobucket. Then click on slideshow in top right corner.
Someday I'll get this all figured out.

Vegetable Beef Soup
Ever cook a beef roast and have leftovers? I did recently and made this soup. Turned out really good. Made it in a large 4-5 qt. crockpot and let it cook on low overnight.
1 32 oz. carton of Swanson Beef Broth
2 cups sliced carrots
2 cups sliced celery
1 15 oz. can peas
2 15 oz. cans corn (I like corn)
1 15 oz. can Delmonte diced tomatoes with basil, garlic & oregano
Left over beef roast cut up
Add all to the crockpot. I used a little water to clean out each of the cans. Cook all night on low.
Next morning, add about 2 cups diced potatoes, stir well, and turn crockpot to high and let cook for about one-two hours or until potatoes are done.
Turn to warm and eat when you are ready to.
I didn't add any spices since the canned veggies had salt and sugar, and of course the tomatoes had other spices. May or may not have to add water....use your judgment. I added a little bit.
