Only 16 more days until my son, Justin, marries his sweetheart Ashleigh. Here they are :)
THE COZY CABIN
THE COZY CABIN
Hi my name is Jan. Welcome to my home. I'm pretty much of an amateur at this blogging thing, but I'm learning. I stay pretty busy working a full-time job, but in my spare time I enjoy papercrafting, reading, cooking and spending time with my family. So, you'll see a little variety on here from time to time. Thanks for stopping by.

I have stumbled across a blog that I absolutely LOVE! It is called Aunt Ruthie's Sugar Pie Farmhouse, and she has great recipes and stories and product reviews. I guess I like it so much because I'm a country girl who grew up on a farm. I will add a button to my favorites on the right so that you can click on it and see for yourself.

I'm ashamed to say it has been almost 3 years since I've posted anything on here. A lot has happened in 3 years - ha! My oldest son who is in the Marines has been to Afghanistan and back twice, he got married in 2010, and in January of this year he and his wife had a baby boy. My middle son is getting married in August, and my youngest son will be a junior in high school this fall. So family life has been busy to say the least.
I still make cards and scrapbook, though I'm horrible with taking pictures and posting them. I must do better with that. It's these two hobbies that I enjoy most and help me to stay sane in my busy life of working full time, and also a part-time job playing piano for a church.
I will leave you with a picture of this handsome fella who just turned 6 months old on July 6th.

Boy am I Pooped!
Today makes the 9th straight day I've worked. (I work 2 part-time jobs.)
I had hoped to take today off, but my co-worker at the law office has been out sick since last Friday. She is still out today and who knows about tomorrow.
I can't wait for the weekend though. I'm on call 10-5 at the store (I have to call in at 9am to see if anyone called in sick and if no one does, I don't have to work.)
I asked off for Sunday and Monday, so I will get some free time....yippee!!!!!!! I need it. My feet and legs are so tired from working at the store. No sitting down there...unless you are on your lunch break.

Shackapalooza 2009
In April, my friend Cheryl and I traveled to Angola, Indiana (to the Potawatomi Inn at Pokagon State Park) for a long weekend of stamping with friends from the Stamp Shack. Shackapalooza 2009 it was called. I took lots of pictures of the girls, our craft room, and we also went on a shopping trip in nearby Fort Wayne, IN to a store called Stamping Day and Night. I even took pictures of the girls shopping and some of the gorgeous cards on display in the store.
I had a great time meeting the girls from the stamp Shack, and Cheryl and I came home with bag of souvenirs and great memories. Driving over 1500 miles in 4 days...it was worth it and I would do it again in a heartbeat :)

Tough Week
My sweet 33 year old nephew Mark passed away on Sunday, March 15th, from a heart attack. Please remember my brother Jerry, wife Sharon, Mark's siblings: Kelly, Keith and Troy, and my parents: Thomas & Frances (affectionately Jr. & Frankie) in your prayers. If you would like to read his obit. in the newspaper, here is the link: http://www.legacy.com/Roanoke/Obituaries.asp?Page=Lifestory&PersonId=125202970
